About the Department

Memorial Bahçelievler Hospital Advanced Endoscopy Center is at your service…

At Memorial Bahçelievler Hospital Advanced Endoscopy Center, digestive system diseases are successfully treated by specialized doctors using modern technology.

Digestive system refers to a very important structure in the body that covers the organs from the esophagus to the anus; the digestive tract, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and other supportive organs. Digestive system diseases are among the most common health problems in the world and in our country. The earlier these diseases are detected, the greater the success of treatment. Endoscopic applications in diseases of the gastrointestinal system are of great importance for diagnosis, treatment and follow-up. Due to technological developments in recent years, the quality and variety of devices in endoscopic procedures are increasing day by day. Applying the right method to the right person by specialists in the field increases patient comfort and contributes significantly to the quality and duration of life.
Endoscopy is the process of examining the gastrointestinal tract, which includes a small camera with a light at the end and called the endoscope, including the esophagus, stomach, duodenum and the large intestine. With the introduction of new generation endoscopy technologies, personalized applications are used in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

At our center, biopsy is collected from suspicious areas in the esophagus, stomach, small and large intestine, pancreas, bile ducts, liver, using gastroscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic retrograde pancreaticolangiography (ERCP), double balloon enteroscopy and endoscopic ultrasonography. At the same time, polypectomy, pancreas and biliary tract imaging, intervention in calculi or stenoses, insertion of a feeding tube in the stomach, intervention in bleeding in the digestive system are routinely performed.

ADVANCED ENDOSCOPIC APPLICATIONS AND TREATMENT METHODS

With the development of endoscopic diagnosis and treatment methods, procedures performed using advanced technological products mainly involve early recognition and treatment of lesions in the digestive system. These equipment, which started to be used in the Advanced Endoscopy Center at Memorial Bahçelievler Hospital, include high resolution endoscopes, optical and digital zoom endoscopes, high resolution endoscopic ultrasonographic devices. Thanks to these advanced technological products, optical chromoendoscopic examinations (BLI (blue light imaging), LCI (linked color imaging), NBI (narrow band imaging) are performed, and early stage tumors and tumor precursor lesions can be identified much earlier and can be diagnosed while it is still at the stage that can be endoscopically treated.

DISEASES THAT ARE TREATED AT OUR CENTER

  • Pancreatic polyps and cancers,
  • Esophageal polyps and cancers,
  • Colon polyps and cancers,
