This Year’s Theme of the 21st Memorial International Children’s Painting Contest: “I’m Healthy Because…”

Believing in the positive and healing power of art, and integrating it into certain treatment processes, Memorial Health Group is organizing the 21st Traditional International Children’s Painting Contest. This year’s theme of the contest, open to children from all around the world and held annually with a different theme, is: “I’m Healthy Because…”

Memorial aims to encourage children to express how they protect their health through colors, to raise awareness of their perspectives on healthy living, and to reflect these ideas through the art of painting by organizing the contest. Painting is the language of children’s minds.

Dr. Melda Alantar, a Child Development Specialist at the Department of Pediatrics at Memorial Şişli Hospital, highlighted the significant benefits of painting for child development and made the following statements:

‘Painting, especially at an early age, is a more powerful means of expression than words. It is a powerful tool that reflects children’s personality traits, interpersonal relationships, and value judgments. Therefore, while it is sufficient for parents and teachers to provide children with opportunities to draw and encourage them, at later stages an educational approach that fosters and further develops the child’s inclination to draw should be adopted. Rewarding children whose works receive recognition in painting contests supports child development by boosting their self-confidence and helping them become aware of their talents.’

Application Requirements

1. The contest will be held in three categories: preschool, primary school, and middle school.
2. Paintings must be created using pastel paints on drawing paper measuring 35 cm × 50 cm.
3. The participant’s full name, age, school, parent’s full name, and phone number must be written on the back right corner of each painting. Each participant is entitled to submit only one entry.
4. Paintings submitted to the contest  will not be returned to their owners. However, awarded works may be returned upon request within one year.
5. Participants must submit their paintings by May 25, 2026, via email to: [email protected]
6. The winners will be announced on May 30, 2026, on the website: www.memorial.com.tr
